Happy September and the start of 2020-2021!
These are unprecedented times and we keep on moving forward with our Zoom plans and expanding our interest groups. At our monthly board meetings, we are taking the ‘one day at a time’ approach and encourage everyone to try social distancing within your own small social circles. This will help us to figure out our club’s activities and creative ways for us to socialize while remaining “safe”!
Our Investment Club is continuing to have meetings every 2 weeks on Monday evenings at 7:30 pm and if you want to join in by Zoom, email Tia Jurvetson. We are typically a lively 22 attendees and hang out afterwards to socialize. Our book group is starting their fall program with a new list of books which is exciting! Our genealogy group is continuing their meetings by Zoom with members sharing interesting stories as they discover their heritage.
Our new “Stitch and Chat” group is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug 19th at 1:30 pm and led by Leslie Ashmore. The plans are to hold this meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. I hope you can join us to ‘show and tell’ your hand projects or just join us to chat!
At our last board meeting, we discussed ongoing local activities to share with our general membership. We are invited to attend the Los Altos Hills Club presentation on Tuesday, Sept 8th at 1:30 pm on “Fire Safety in the Hills” by Zoom. We also discussed the 100th year anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage movement with various invitations to watch, attend and zoom local activities. Stay tuned for our board approved emails.
Thank you, everyone for your support of our activities and attendance to our various Zoom meetings! I appreciate and enjoy seeing all your smiling faces on my computer screen when we zoom and it is been a great way to stay connected!
I wish everyone a safe and healthy fall!
