In his talk Robert will describe how DNA works to allow us to live. Although the double helix structure of DNA has been known for more than 50 years, the specific sequence of DNA was only discovered about 5 years ago. Since that time a wide range of discoveries have been made that allow us to understand what makes humans human and they have also provided us with insights into the causes of a number of diseases. As a result of these discoveries a number of new diagnostics have appeared and a number of new therapies have emerged and are emerging. Despite these great advances, there are still mysteries and DNA appears to be much more complicated than anyone imagined.
Please RSVP to give us an idea of numbers attending and to let us know if you would bring cookies, breakfast bread or fruit to share. RSVP to Lenelle Smith
